Inflation rates have come out for November, and the national inflation rate has risen 7.1 percent since last November. However, The Kansas Constitutional focuses on issues regarding Kansas specifically, so we are looking at how high inflation has risen in our region, specifically. The Midwest Region is made up of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Together, these states are experiencing a lower inflation than the country as a whole. Compared to the West and South Regions of the U.S., the Midwest Region is experiencing a lower annual inflation rate. While the consumer price index (CPI) for the Midwest Region has risen 6.8 percent from November of last year, the West Region is experiencing a rise of 7.1 percent and the South Region is experiencing a 7.7 percent increase. The North Region has a 6.4 percent increase from November 2021 to November of this year. From October 2022 to November 2022, the Midwest has seen a 0.2 percent deflation.
