If you have been paying attention to today’s news, you probably saw that the U.S. inflation rose 8.6 percent since last year, and this is true. Over the past year, inflation for the country as a whole did raise this much. However, The Kansas Constitutional focuses on issues regarding Kansas specifically, so we are looking at how high inflation has risen in our region, specifically. The Midwest Region is made up of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Together, these states are experiencing a worse inflation than the country as a whole and specifically the Northeast Region which has a rise of 7.5 percent, and the West Region which is experiencing a rise of 8.3 percent.
