The U.S. Department of Education is looking to expand Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 to include sexual orientations and gender identity. Title IX prohibits discrimination “on the basis of sex” for every public K-12 school, college, and university in the nation. The proposal has been in the works for a while, being published in the Federal Register a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking since July 12, 2022, yet most of mainstream media seemed to have forgotten about it as most people still don’t know about it.
According to childparentrights.org the proposed changes to Title IX would do the following:
Create a new category of “sex discrimination” based on sexual orientation and gender identity
Make upholding biological reality a form of “sex-based harassment”
Normalize gender identity ideology and harm children’s health
Create a head-on collision with parental rights
Threaten religious freedom and free speech in favor of gender indoctrination
Turn Title IX Coordinators into federal law enforcement officials
Require schools to open up their privacy facilities based on gender identity
Jeopardize girls’ and women’s athletic and educational opportunities
Public comments for and against USDOE’s proposed Title IX regulations can be submitted on or before September 12, 2022. As of this publication 184,009 public comments have been made, but more are still needed.
