February kicks off a string of “minority months” with February being, of course, “Black History Month.” As a minority who gets one of these months… I really don’t care for them. “Black history” is history. It should be taught all year round, rather than being segregated to one month. Instead of arguing, however, I’ve just decided I’m embracing it this year. So, as a lover of poetry and American history, every Thursday my paid subscribers can enjoy a poetry analysis of a historical poem by a poet that happens to be Black that (I think) would make white leftists screech.
