Election Day is tomorrow, and while we may not be voting for President, Governor, or anything like that, local elections are still important, and arguably more so. This is because of two reasons. We are voting for people who can most directly affect our day-to-day life, and these are the people we can have the biggest influence on. This is because we are electing neighbors, friends, people in our very communities. People you can speak person-to-person with by attending school board meetings, city commission meetings, county commission meetings, among other ways.
These are people who will decide on a list of local issues from taxes to education and more, and you, as a constituent, have the most say at this level. If you want to make a difference politically, there is no better way to do that than getting involved in your local politics.
In-person advance voting ends Monday, November 6 at noon. Polls open on Tuesday, November 7 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
