I have not always liked Kansas. As a teenager, I painted with a wide brush the type of people that were here, buying into the left’s narrative that those on the right were “bigots,” “evil,” and “homophobic.” However, as I have grown, I have found my perspective on many things change, and I am thankful for that.
I am thankful that after college I couldn’t find a job in my field of study (forensic investigations), where I do not believe I would feel fulfilled. I am thankful that I decided to go and work as a journalist for a newspaper in Branson, MO. I am thankful that, while working for the paper, I got to cover a speech given by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who showed me that I need to open my mind more to those on the right side of the political spectrum. I’m thankful that Sanders not only beat her cancer this year, but also became the governor of Arkansas; a big year of victories for her. I’m thankful that a series of choices brought me back to Kansas. I am thankful that in arguably one of the darkest times in human history, many lightbulbs began the shine—including mine. I’m thankful that I took the leap to quit writing for other news outlets to start The Kansas Constitutional. I am thankful that this newsletter has led me to meet so many different people working to preserve freedom in this great state. I’m thankful that God has guided me through it all. And I am thankful for you, my readers who show me that I made the right choice.
So, with all that being said…
