Spot on. Overall, how did the GOP fair in the state legislature? It's really hard to find a holestic snapshot.

I'd also be interested in your thoughts regarding the KS judges and the KS Supreme Court retention elections. I find it beyond frustrating that so little attention and information is made available to voters and the GOP seems comfortably AWOL on the topic.

Yeah, so as far as the Kansas Senate goes, it's pretty easy. Senate 38 was the only chair up for grabs. Republican Ronald Rychman was the one who held it before the election and after the election he still holds it. As for the House, Republicans lost one seat going from holding 86 of the 125 seats to holding 85 or the 125 seats.

As for the judges, I did want to see the majority of them go. This was a HUGE deal for the prolife movement. An awesome young woman named Cheyenne Vandeventer started the 'Vote Prolife Kansas Effort' and created a prolife voting guide for both the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals judges. I, unfortunately, didn't know who she was until a couple days before Election Day so I wasn't able to get the guide out until the day before. I do consider myself prochoice (to a point), but looking at how our founders were thinking about the country, anything where someone had to be willed to do something for another was not considered a right. These would be things like housing, education, healthcare, and of course abortion. The fact that 6 of the 7 judges in the Supreme Court and 3 of the 7 Court of Appeals judges believe that the government has the power to take money away from people to fund something like abortion irks me.
